What does adult use mean?
Under Massachusetts law, adults 21 and over will be permitted to purchase marijuana products at licensed dispensaries. Similar programs in other states are sometimes referred to as recreational sales. The law was approved by Massachusetts voters in November 2016 and the Cannabis Control Commission is in the process of licensing eligible facilities to serve adult use consumers.
When will adult use sales begin at Patriot Care?
While we don’t have an official date set at this time, we’re excited to report that our locations in Greenfield and Lowell were recently licensed by the Cannabis Control Commission to perform adult use sales. Right now, we’re targeting to have adult use sales ready by March 2019. We’ll be announcing via email and our website as soon as we have a firm date scheduled for adult use sales, so please sign up for updates at the bottom of the page.
Which Patriot Care facilities will offer adult use sales?
What are the qualifications for making adult use purchases?
When adult use sales begin, all adults 21 and older will be eligible to purchase. Customers will need to present a government-issued photo ID when entering the dispensary.
Are there purchase limits for adult use?
Yes. Adult use purchases are limited to 1 ounce of flower or 5 grams of concentrate per transaction.
How will medical patients be affected?
Adult use sales in Massachusetts do not replace or change the Medical Use of Marijuana Program. Meeting the needs of medical patients remains Patriot Care’s core mission and we’ll continue to offer the same high quality products and services patients have come to expect at all Patriot Care dispensaries (Boston, Greenfield, Lowell).
